Current Events December 2010

This month Urbane: Portrait of a City draws to a close at Katie Gingrass Gallery. This exhibit features artists Stephanie Barenz, Karen Goetzinger, Erin Liljegren, Jody McLeane, Tom Nachreiner, Christian Ricco, Neil Rongstad, Bridget Wolf and Ray Zovar. "Urbane: Portrait of a City celebrates the beauty of the cityscape through the artists' personal interpretations of their urban experiences." Also last Friday, Dec. 3rd, I exhibited in The Milk Factory's first group show. The Milk Factory is a DIY apartment gallery, but a very unique one at that. The former Polonia Dairy at 707 N. Winchester once functioned as a commercial dairy operation. Now the space functions as a gallery and residence. Artists included Dara Benno, Kelsey Zigmund, Jeff Prokash, Erin Liljegren, Nathan Vernau, Morgan Simms and more. The one night art party had a surprising and packed turnout. It was a lot of fun.
