"Making Space to Live" Opens 4-8-11

Next Show:

Making Space to Liveopening: April 8th, 6-10pm

Making Space to Live features paintings, drawings & prints by Erin Liljegren and sculpture by Ike Floor, curated by Lauren Bost. Through their respective mediums, these two Chicago artists work with the vision of creating sacred spaces and finding the familiarities of home within an increasingly crowded city. Erin's images of people surrounded by objects question the replacement of real relationships with physical proximity, while Ike calls on the ancient art of weaving & crocheting to create a sense of comfort in his soft sculpture.

Ink and acrylic on paper

Marker, acrylic, and packing foam on paper

Electrical tape, acrylic, & mixed materials on cardboard
This series of drawings was inspired by my ongoing interest in the production of materials and objects, and the people behind the jobs in the factory.
